Tarik Yousef el-Magariaf
Tarik M. Yousef is senior fellow in Global Economy and Development at the Brookings Institution and director of the Brookings Doha Center. His research has focused on the political economy of reform and youth inclusion in the Arab world. He has authored numerous articles and co-edited several volumes including: After the Spring: Economic Transition in the Arab World (2012); Young Generation Awakening: Economics, Society, and Policy on the Eve of the Arab Spring (2016); and Public Sector Reform in the Middle East and North Africa: Lessons of Experience for a Region in Transition (2020). His policy experience includes working at the IMF, the World Bank and the UN. He has a PhD in economics from Harvard University.
